LEATHERS RANGE:
Antique
A Pigmented and corrected grain hide that is dyed through and then applied with a darker florenteak top coat. After the furniture has been upholstered we undertake a hand antiquing process which removes areas of the top coat to produce a subtle aged look.
The leather then receives a polishing coat to produce a sealed surface lustre. It can be expected that everyday usage abrasion will accentuate the antique colour change and is an inherent feature of this kind of leather finish. This type of leather has been our best seller on traditional styles for the past thirty years and can be relied upon to stand up to all the rigours of a busy home or commercial environment.
Birch / Shelly
A Pigmented Leather that is dyed through and then given a stain resistant top finish. This type of leather is popular with those customers requiring a solid colour which offers a more contemporary look.
Etna
A pigmented hide with a soft waxy feel. The pigment has a contrasting mix to produce a distressed appearance and a resilient coating has been applied to help prevent soiling and scratching. A designer style leather with the advantage of hard wearing properties making it suitable for heavy domestic and contract use.
Old English
A more design influenced leather where the Semi Aniline hide is lightly buffed and then dyed through before undergoing a finishing process which involves the application of a combination of oils and waxes. The final result is a subtle blend of shading which adds depth to the effect of the colour. The whole purpose of this kind of finish is that the item will show wear and distress marks as the waxes redistribute under use. The leather also possesses a "pull-up” effect as the lighter under shade is exposed when stretched.
Tudor
This is a unique designer leather type. The Semi Aniline hide is dyed through with a lighter colour shade and then it has an application of a darker specialised top surface which has been developed to crack when stretched to reveal an authentic antique crazed look.
Vele
The same hide type and process as with the Modern Collection of leathers but the final process imparts a more shiny top surface. The colour palate is of the darker shades and makes this leather type equally suitable to contemporary or traditional styling.
The sealed surface is hard wearing and easy care. Also suitable for both heavy domestic and commercial use.
